GAS METAL ARC WELDING
INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES
• Identify the GMAW/FCAW equipment, setup steps, process variables, and ability to apply them.
• Define proper GMAW/FCAW procedures and ability to adjust equipment to produce intended weldments.
• Demonstrate welding mild steel, stainless steel, and aluminum alloys using GMAW/FCAW procedures in all welding positions.
• Take qualification tests using GMAW/FCAW processes on either plate or pipe applications.

10. Welding on ferrous and nonferrous metal in all positions
11. Use and care for fuel gas welding and cutting apparatuses
12. Shop welding systems, grinders, vices, clamps, drills, files, air driven tools, punches, shears, breaks
13. Measuring tools and methods
14. Fabrication systems and material types
15. Students are expected to cut, prepare and weld samples using steel, stainless steel and aluminum materials according to the specified lessons described on shop drawings
