INTRODUCTION

Electrical motor is widely used in industry as actuator. In many cases, motor speed control is necessary to achieve the required condition. There are ways to control speed in electric motor, it may open or closed loop system. Motor speed is sometimes controlled without torque consideration, but in other case it may require high torque in low speed. Variable Speed Drive (VSD) is an instrument to control motor speed and torque in open loop system. It is widely used because it simple and cheap way. In this training, participant will learn about basic electricity, motor principles and basic VSD. After completing the training, participant will be able to understand the theoretical background about their activity, so that trouble shooting can be done better.
